Volunteer for cleanups
The Napa County RCD organizes waterway trash pickups on Earth Day and Coastal Cleanup Day — and can arrange private group cleanups too. naparcd.org/cleanups
Friends of the Napa River also runs volunteer restoration events along the river andwatershed.
Attend local events
The Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County (EECNC) connects residents with the local environment year-round, including Napa's Earth Day celebrations. eecnc.org

The Napa Farmers Market brings farm-fresh produce, specialty foods, and artisan goods directly from local growers.
Napa Green certifies sustainable vineyards and wineries — patronizing certified businesses supports climate action in the valley.

🔄 Reuse
Use Buy Nothing groups, thrift shops, or Freecycle to keep items out of landfills. Nextdoor also features a "For Sale and Free" section.
🌱 Compost
Free composting workshops are offered annually between February and September, organized through a collaboration of the City of Napa, UC Cooperative Extension Napa County Master Gardener Program, Napa County, and the Upper Valley Waste Management Agency. Topics include backyard composting and worm composting, with discounted bins and tool kits available for purchase.
Use your brown bin supplied by Napa Recycling & Waste Services for food scraps and yard trimmings (required under SB 1383), which will be made into compost. Compost is available for purchase at the Napa Recycling facility.
